#BassRelease – Dossa & Locuzzed – Banana Split (Viper Summer Slammers 2016)

Last friday, on the 5th of August, Viper Recordings, released a huge 35 track compilation from the hottest names in DnB from around the world.

Viper boss, Futurebound has also added a whopping 15 new unreleased Viper exclusive tracks from rising stars including: BMotion, Six Blade, Dossa & Locuzzed, North Base, Ekko & Sidetrack, Killer Hertz, NCT, Sygnal, Liz-E, T & Sugah, Dub Elements, Blaine Stranger, The Autobots, Ravager, and Intraspekt, along with a bonus DJ mix by NC-17.

Summer Slammers is jam-packed full of Drum & Bass superstars including: Matrix & Futurebound, Brookes Brothers, Cyantific, InsideInfo, The Prototypes, Delta Heavy, Spor, Calyx & Teebee, The Upbeats, Culture Shock, Smooth, Trei, Koven, Mob Tactics, Insomniax, as well as remixes of some of today’s top acts including: MNEK, Birdy, Tritonal, and The Prodigy.

While we are busy grooving to this compilation at the headquarters, with this amazing weather in the city, we got to chat with one of the artists from the compilation, Dossa & Locuzzed. They have contributed three tracks in this compilation. One of them is ‘Banana Split’. It is a perfect amalgamation of Funk sounds with the new age drum and bass patterns. Very groovy, and a fine tribute to DnB since we can trace back it’s origin to be nothing different but Funk.

What are the tracks you guys have been digging lately, your current top 5 favourites?

1. TC – Next Hype (Crissy Criss + ErbnDub + Malux Remix)
“The original is a killer, but this one is iller!”

2. Noisia – Tentacles

“It’s awesome how the vocal is so weird but still somehow works as a perfect transition in this track. Overall: Neurojumpup ftw!”

3.
Loko – What You Do To Me

“That 90s rnb-vibe in the intro just fits perfectly in our sets to then just punch you in the face with the growling-bassline. Lovely.”

4. Deuce & Charger – Who Can You Trust (Dossa & Locuzzed Remix)

“Was really cool to work on this remix, putting this load of synth sounds in it.. That's what we love 🙂

5. Bensley – Outsider

“Bensley killed it again with this track, forward thinking stuff!”

Pick 2 of your favourite tracks from this compilation.
1. Dossa & Locuzzed – Banana Split
2. BMotion – Tekken
What was the idea behind Banana Split?

A : Banana Split was done last summer, when we bought our moog sub 37.
The lead-melody in the intro was done while jamming with the iconic-moog sound.
When the track was finished we thought about a fitting title – Banana Split just seemed perfect.
If Banana Split’s had a theme it would probably sound like this 🙂
